Hawaiian Shirts

Tally Whacker 1997
Alderbrook Golf & Country Club - August

Won by Bob Pacquer - for the 4th time in 8 years!

Unfortunately, all the records from this event have disappeared. I organized most of this event while still living in Fiji, with the help of guys like Randy Russell and Steve Northfield. I set the date to coincide with my daughter's wedding so I could be involved in both while visiting back home. The theme in 1997 was "Hawaiin Shirts" This was a simple theme yet many players were fined severely for their attempts to pass strange attire for "Hawaiian." Particularly memorable was the Mexican shirt being worn by Gary Alexander. Colorful - yes, Hawaiian - no. Hopefully, some day, photos will emerge which will show just how classy this group of golfers looked.

Eighteen holes of match or medal play will teach you more about your foe than will 18 years of dealing with him across a desk.
